If I could give this a 0 star I would. Do not stay at this hotel unless you want to be harassed by drunken men, have to walk on a roof to get to your room, want to stay in a dirty room or be kept awake until after midnight by blaring music. This place claims to close at 10pm but what rubbish, never known a place like this in my life. The rooms are disgusting and have weird stuff on the walls and the showers were disgusting. If you can afford to spend money on an extension then you should invest some money into sound proofing all rooms so people who travel for business arent kept awake. Wish I read the reviews sooner. Absolute rubbish.

This is a very old building and i assume its a listed building in a conservation area. The Bedding was clean and fresh 👌 excellent shower . The bar is very old and original. The cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar staff are extremely hard working and friendly. It's a pub full of local characters and all very friendly people. I have enjoyed my stay tremendously. If your looking for luxury hotels "forget this one " it takes care of you at a very reasonable price.

Can't really fault our stay here. Room was clean, bedding was also nice and clean, lovely hot powerful shower. Bar staff are great, always friendly and polite. Cheap bar prices. The locals made us feel extremely welcome. I would definitely stay here again when visiting family.

My granddaughter and I booked a couple of nights here as we were attending an exhibition at the NEC and the hotel is well-placed (15 mins drive) and quite cheap. Between making the booking and actually arriving at the hotel I read the TA reviews and was not a little worried by the many poor ones. But we'd booked and paid, so off we went. Key points: Staff prompt and friendly Room: small - a twin room with two single beds pushed together, so we had to separate them by a few inches. No other furniture - there wasn't room for any. So no dressing table, no chair. Five wire coat hangers. Cleanliness: Bedding fresh and clean; most of the room and shower room OK, but grubby in the corners and the places that might get overlooked in a superficial clean. One of the wash basin taps was loose in its socket. Comfort: In fairness, the bed was very comfortable and I got a couple of good nights' sleep. Parking: just about adequate. As building works are going on at the moment some of the spaces aren't available. But the position is unlikely to improve as the building works appear to be a second annexe which, presumably, will increase the number of rooms and hence, the number of parking spaces needed. And the most baffling thing of all: the room smelled very strongly of stale cigarette smoke. Given that we have had a smoking ban in hotels for seventeen years, this seems bizarre - unless, of course, people had been smoking in the room. Looking back, the whole experience was quite amusing in a weird sort of way. It wasn't so bad we wanted to leave, but overall it was just about adequate. Just for clarity, we were in the annexe, not the main pub, and this was midweek, so there wasn't a lot of noise. Just as well, as we could hear conversations in the other annex rooms. I daresay it was noisier in the main building - and if you're wanting a weekend stay, know that they have music / karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights, and even the staff said it gets noisy!
